'More British Troops Should Be Pledged To Afghanistan', Says Former Armed Forces Chief:

For 'stupidities of the past, read 'stupidities of the past, present and future....' This is less about the welfare of Afghanistan and more about the welfare of the British Army. 


For two years until 2008, General Lord Richards commanded NATO forces in Afghanistan, and earlier this month, he told Forces News that he blamed politicians for some of what he called "the stupidities" in Afghanistan in the past.
