A POLICE officer and a civilian were killed and two civilians were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED), emplaced by unidentified militants, detonated near a police checkpoint in the city of Jalalabad in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province on 22 June, RFE/RL reported. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
