Colin Rutherford, a Canadian hostage, released five years after he was captured in Afghanistan, foreign minister says: 

Colin Rutherford went missing during a 2010 site-seeing trip to the war-ravaged region, according to a filmed interrogation released in 2011. In the video, he tells his captors he came to Afghanistan out of interest “in history and historic sites, old buildings, shrines.”
