Navy Seal Abuse Of Detainees - NYT Report

ABUSE IN AFGHANISTAN. The New York Times published a report today on an investigation showing that Navy SEALs abused detainees in Afghanistan, doing everything from dropping heavy stones on their chests to improvising waterboarding techniques and beating them – so badly that in one case a detainee died. A Navy criminal report also shows that local police militiamen who were being trained by SEALs beat suspects when they were rounded up. But the SEAL command cleared the SEAL team of any wrongdoing – leading some to wonder if it was a cover-up to hide what might have been a particularly embarrassing case.
