Pentagon on ISIS spread to Afghanistan | Afghanistan Times:
The fight against al-Qaeda in the region has left many weaknesses of the United States bare as it has neither taken this global threat to its logical end nor made Afghanistan fully capable to carve an independent peace route on its own because most of the time it was the US that dominated peace policy in the region. In such a situation it is essential to know about what the United States thinks about tackling Daesh. To better understand what’s the policy of the US to fight Daesh, President Obama’s speech, which he delivered back in Sept. 2014, is of utmost importance where he said that it will take time to eradicate a cancer like ISIL? He said that he wanted the American people to understand how this effort will be different from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He said it will not involve American combat troops fighting on a foreign soil.
