Cameron Spins the Afghan Debacle on Visit

Cameron talked about 'achievements' and goals 'almost' achieved. That's after 13 years of abject failure. He told 250 troops at the base in southern Afghanistan: “What we’ve found here, an appalling extent of Islamist terrorism, that disease is still present in so many parts of the world.”
Mr Cameron said: “If our great-grandfathers were fighting against the Prussian domination of Europe; if our grandfathers were fighting fascism; if our fathers were fighting the Cold War against Communism, I’m afraid to say this struggle against Islamist extremist terrorism is the struggle of our generation.
