"An ISAF service member died as a result of an enemy forces attack in eastern Afghanistan today," ISAF said in a statement.
ISAF did not provide details of the nationality of the soldier and the exact location of the incident.
The death toll of foreign troops in Afghanistan has increased to 60 this year.
