Sgt. Charles C. Strong, 28, was a member of the Marine Forces Special Operations Command. He graduated from Nansemond River High School in 2003.
On Wednesday, his body was brought home, escorted by his older brother Jason, a staff sergeant in the same Marines Special Operations Command.
The two brothers were deployed to Afghanistan at the same time, a spokesman confirmed.
