Militants kill New York Times local correpondent in Helmand - Khaama Press (KP) | Afghan News Agency:"The family members of Noori have said that his dead body was found in Lashkargah city after he went missing around 10 am local time.
Provincial governor for Helmand province, Mohammad Naeem, said investigations have been launched regarding the death of the local journalist.
Noori was originally a resident of eastern Laghman province and used to work with the New York Times during the past two years.
Abdul Salam Zahid, head of the local radio station “Bost” in Helmand said Noori was being threatened by anti-government armed militant groups during the recent months."
