Gunmen kidnap 60 deminers in Herat | Pajhwok Afghan News:

Herat police spokesman Col. Abdul Rauf Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News that six of the workers kidnapped had been rescued and a massive operation to secure the release of the rest was underway in Takak area, where the abduction occurred at gunpoint.
Dr. Farid Humayun, country director of Halo Trust, the mine-clearing agency, told Pajhwok Afghan News the workers were abducted early in the morning from Marabad locality on the outskirts of the district headquarters.
Armed bike riders blocked the way of the agency’s vehicles carrying the workers and kidnapped them in the direction of Ghazni province, he said, adding he had approached local elders and provincial representatives seeking their help in securing the early release of the workers.
