KUNA : Blast in Afghanistan kills 6 people, wounds 18 - General - 02/01/2014: "
ISLAMABAD, Jan 2 (KUNA) -- At least six people were killed and eighteen others were wounded including women in a bomb explosion in central Logar province on Thursday, said officials.
The District administrative head, Eng. Mohammad Rahim told that the bomb exploded in Baraki Rajan Bazaar area of Logar in the evening.
He confirmed the death of two women, a child and three men, accusing the Taliban insurgents for planting the device in the crowded market. He further told that the device was attached to a motorbike.
The Director of Public Health, Dr. Mohammad Zarif Naibkhel also confirmed that six dead bodies have been received and thirteen injured people were taken to the Pul-i-Alam Civil Hospital.
The local security officials said that the market was crowded at the evening time when the explosion struck the area causing a large number of casualties.
The security situation of Afghanistan has been worsening after the national security force has taken control of overall security of the country as NATO/ISAF forces prepare to leave Afghanistan till end of 2014."
