Polish Soldier Killed, 2 Wounded

Lieutenant Mirosław Łucki has become the 41st Pole to die in Afghanistan when involved in anti-insurgent operations in Ghazni province.Mirosław Łucki was 38 years old and leaves behind a wife and son.Two other Polish soldiers were also wounded when a platoon was disarming an explosive device, though their lives are not in danger.
Lieutenant Łucki, from the Commando Unit in Lubliniec, served in the Polish armed forces since 1997.
"He was an experienced soldier, serving with the Polish Military Contingent in Iraq and Afghanistan,” says a statement released by the press office at Special Forces Command.
