Pakistan appears to have turned the clock back with this result. It is questionable whether any real inroads will be made into endemic corruption or building economic recovery. On the plus side, Sharif, at least ostensibly, does not appear to be a US stooge. Imran Khan's loss is a lost opportunity for the Pakistani people.
