Meanwhile America's former commander in Afghanistan has said the US and NATO are less than halfway to reaching their goals in the country.
Retired General Stanley McChrystal said that, even a decade on, coalition forces still lack the knowledge to bring it to a successful end.
His claim that the US and NATO are not even 50% down the road to their goals can be taken to mean (by US Generals's past record for accuracy) that they are not even 1% down that road. Whatever their 'goals' are supposed to be.
