Ahmed Wali Karzai Funeral

Karzai Funeral Film Clip -

Wali Karzai's death will transform power relations in the south, where the international military coalition has few friends of stature and none with the sweeping influence of the president's powerful sibling. Karzai will struggle to find an ally resourceful enough in balancing alliances with tribal and political leaders, drug runners and militias in a province where the Taliban still hold much sway.

  1. I'm still waiting to see how the White House spins his death. Are Afghans supposed to stand with Karzai, look up to Wali and fight for what he fought for? Obviously U.S. officials can't admit his assassination could undermine Kandahar's entire security system. I think the Obama administration has already chosen the silent option - ignore and march ahead.

  2. The war lords are circling the wagons.
The Taliban got to his body guard of 8 years.
I am sure Karzai is hearing foot steps.

The same thing happened to Diem and his brother in Nam.

  3. Fair points. It has been said all political careers end in failure. In Afghanistan all presidencies end in assassination. Karzai knows this only too well.
