Next Week's News From Afghanistan

Events have become so predictable and so damnable in Afghanistan that it is possible to print the news headlines a week in advance. Here they are for week beginning 6th June:

NATO kills 20 people in airstrike. Eight of them are children.

President Karzai condemns civilian carnage by ISAF/NATO.

ISAF say they are 'investigating' recent deaths but have 'no reports' of casualties.

NATO spokesperson says that the alliance works hard to "limit" civilian casualties.

NATO claims to have killed 'Dozens of Taliban'.

  1. It is like a rerun.
    Not for long though.
    The season has just begun.
More and more chatter about the West not leaving on time.
This might be their last hurrah.
    D.C. knows this is unsustainable.
The pentagon and the global war mongers want an endless war with out borders.
The Afghans just want us to leave.
They want to deal with THEIR country in THEIR way.

  2. Low troop withdrawals + increase in civilian casualties + chronically poor governance + Western opposition/apathy = the West, Karzai, and Islamabad on collision for a July crash.
