There is nothing surer than this is a precursor for significant civilian casualties about to be caused by NATO. The miserable excuse they have used for years in relation to the massive civilian death toll they have caused in Afghanistan has been exactly this. If you bomb civilians in built-up areas (NATO like to say 'compounds' because that doesn't sound like 'houses') in countries where you have no business this is what happens. Watch out for a massive ramp-up of the NATO bombing in the next few weeks. Two principal reasons:
- Obama doesn't want Ghaddafi to be his Osama (see Dubya legacy)
- The continued failure to define a purpose or achieve a goal, whatever both may be in Libya, is embarrassing to Obama, Sarkozy and Cameron in that pecking order.
Still, when the failure continues into months if not years at least Obama can blame the Europeans. But the blood will be on all their hands.
I do have to hand it to O on this one so far.
ReplyDeleteAs you say he left himself an out.
France took the lead.
G.B. jumped right in.
I heard one talking head say this was another international effort.
What is so international about the same colonizer players?
We are a horde of invaders and occupiers.
Very succinctly put, RZ. France took the lead when the White House gave the word. Cameron is like Jeeves, the faithfull butler.
