The governor of southern Kandahar province said provincial reconstruction teams should be operating in coordination with the Afghan government.
"They claim to be supporting the Afghan government, but they are doing things that we are unaware of," said Mr Weesa.
Mr Weesa urged all donors of Afghanistan to work in consultation and coordination with the Afghan government.Ahmad Wali Karzai Head of Kandahar Provincial Council also believes all programmes should be implemented in consultation with the government.
"We think there should be coordination and understanding between Afghan government and foreigners as well as Afghan people. It is important to carefully decide on priorities of what to do and where the projects should be launched," said Mr Ahmad Wali Karzai.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai has previously accused the PRTs of interfering in the government affairs and even urged dissolution of all provincial reconstruction teams.
"Offices of District governors should be the offices of Afghan government, not PRT," President Karzai had said.Afghan experts and leader of the Change and Hope Coalition had reacted to the comments of the Presidents and emphasised that the role of PRTs was important.
But the US ambassador in Kabul Karl Eikenberry had said he supported President Karzai's decision that PRTs should slowly close down.Mr Eikenberry had said the decision was important as Afghanistan was approaching towards transition.
