it looked to me like some were very young. These are not all old men, with nothing better to do. The West is seen as invaders and occupiers just as the Soviet Union was. They see this as a crusade against Islam, and their way of life. Any other peoples in any other country would do the same. One mans terrorist is an other mans patriot.
Not exactly the demoralized Taliban that the US media keeps raving about.
