Even with his 17.000 extra troops obama is sinking in the same quagmire as the the Russians. Afghanistan finished for the Soviets and they now regard their propping up of communist puppets as a complete failure. Karzai isn't a communist but he is hiding behind american military power. The soviets must be cackling that the the US is fighting the same militants that they themselves armed against the Russians. Afghanistan will be to obama what Iraq was to Bush.
