Death of a Doctor, Stopping the Next Kunduz

Death of a Doctor, Stopping the Next Kunduz - Defense One

The United States military, NATO, and the Afghan Security Forces are all conducting investigations. Portions of them may be made public … one day. In the place of answers, the Pentagon has offered only brief statements of condolence, blood money, and promises of a transparent (but still very secret) investigatory process.

“Fog of war” serves as an inadequate excuse and an insulting explanation for a tragedy of this magnitude, especially in a day and age when billions of people produce actionable data in their every digital interaction. In the year 2015, how could the smartest military in the world have missed signals this important?
