A number of unknown gunmen attacked the police headquarters' of Maiwand district of southern Kandahar province on Monday, killing the Director of the Criminal Department, local officials said.
Five others including three policemen were injured in the attack.
The attack took place in Maiwand district after a number of insurgents attacked the police headquarter and began clashing with the security forces, officials said.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. (Tolo.)
