At least eight demining workers were killed and three others injured in Tobakai village of Mohammad Agha district of Logar province on Tuesday morning.
The demining personnel worked for Mine Detection Center (MDC).
The incident took place around 8 .m. when a group of unknown gunmen began firing at the MDC staff.
No insurgent groups including the Taliban have claimed responsibility of the attack.
