British soldier killed after 'US soldiers failed to assess Afghan road for bombs' - Telegraph
Sgt Davidson's convoy travelled along had been checked about an hour before by US bomb expert engineers.
But the team, who were responsible for surveying the area and deciding whether a route is low or high risk, failed "to provide an adequate risk assessment and they should have taken into account vulnerable points along the route".
Major Christopher Sargent, Sgt Davidson's commanding officer, told the inquest he believed that route was the safest one available at the time.
