“There is no need for it and the boys are not happy. Morale is very low. All we will be doing is cleaning up.
“It is a case of ‘do as you are told’ but there will be a lot of lads leaving when we get back.
“I don’t understand why, as we prepare to leave Helmand, we are sending blokes out for eight months. It is madness.”
