Tony writes : It's far out, man. Chant along with this, all you war-haters. John Peel, where are you when we need you?

  1. People have been crying for freedom since the beginning of time.
It is the one thing in our soul, and spirit that they can not own or control.

  2. Surely, RZ. But although The EB Band are from the 70s, I think 'the beginning of time' is a bit of an exaggeration on your part. And possibly ageist?

  3. I graduated from High School in 1969.
This puts us in the same age bracket.

When it comes to Rock guitarists. There are 3.
Jimi Hendrix, Jimi Page, and Jeff Beck.

  4. I left school to go to Uni in 1971. The age of the guitar heroes, I would agree. My top 5:
1.Hendrix (whom I saw in Glasgow as a 17 year old).
2.Clapton, who lost it latterly (by which I mean the last 25 years)
    3.Peter Green
    4.Page
    5.Walter Trout
I liked Alvin Lee but you could tell he was not in the same class.

Note how Clapton is riding the H Horse. LOL
I saw Cream in L.A. Janis Joplin opened. Lots of Smoke in the Shrine Auditorium that night. :-)

    Part 2 is even better.
Neil Young is one of my Rock And Roll Gods.

  6. A wondrous clip. By a weird coincidence, I was on holiday in Bath 2 months ago and met Ronnie Wood in a supermarket queue. Not joking. He was buying cases of cider. I said hello and he was very friendly. I wondered later why a millionaire would be there at all rather than send a driver. He was very down to earth though, although I would say he is competing with Keith in the debauched look stakes. One of the girls in the office told me he had a mansion in Bath and recently kicked out his wife for a 21-year old. You would expect nothing less of a rock guitarist, I suppose.

  7. ROFLMAO
Ya, good ol Keith. Death warmed over.
I met Charlie Watts once in a restaurant in Santa Barbara Ca. when I lived there. I asked him if he was Charlie Watts and he just smiled and nodded.
Joe Cocker lived in the area at the time. But he was much more animated. LOL His drink of choice was rum and coke.

  8. Rum and coke is a popular drink in the UK. I have to admit to having the odd one myself. Rock and roll lifestyle, eh?
